Episode 21: Dr. Matthew Sleeth
BE A FORCE FOR LIFE IN A CULTURE OF SUICIDE
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I had an honest conversation about suicide with DR. MATTHEW SLEETH. As a former emergency room physician and minister, Dr. Sleeth has a heart for offering practical and spiritual tools to people who are struggling with depression and suicide.
His recent book, Hope Always: How to be a Force for Life in a Culture of Suicide, provides unique Biblical insight into depression and suicide and provides practical insight on how individuals, organizations, and churches can be a part of the solution.

THE SHOW NOTES
WAY TO GO AWARD
WHO ARE YOU NOMINATING FOR A WAY TO GO AWARD?
My son, Dr. Clark Sleeth. He runs the pediatric departments at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya.
AND ONE QUESTIONS
ONE PERSON THAT HAS MADE A LASTING IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE?
Dr. John Spicer, a family doctor. I got to see someone act out Christianity everyday in every aspect of his life.
ONE THING YOU’RE LOVING THESE DAYS THAT WE SHOULD CHECK OUT?
ONE LESSON YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE LEARNED SOONER?
That I would have known the Lord (sooner). I’ll always have the regret that the majority of my life I was not able to serve Him.
ONE TRAIT YOU HAD AS A KID GROWING UP THAT YOU STILL HAVE TODAY?
The ability to go it on my own if I have to.
ONE WAY YOU’RE MOVING INTO THIS NEXT YEAR WITH HOPE?
It comes from the younger people I get to hang out with. It’s no longer cool to be a Christian. They have their faith because they have their faith. That just gives me great hope…They’re in it because they love Jesus.
